Air pollution, dry weather, and too long in front of the computer can cause dry and itchy eyes. In addition to these factors, it seems that the older a person more likely to develop chronic dry eye, especially after menopause in women.
As reported by prevention, Friday (30/11/2012), prevent dry eyes by following these six easy steps:
1. Rest my eyes from the computer screen
2. Use eye drops
Being in front of a computer all day can make dry eyes, so rest your eyes for a minute every hour to see the computer.
Artificial tears are eye drops that you can get at the pharmacy, can relieve dry eye and reduce discomfort in the eye. Choose a safe eye drops without preservatives, which can cause eye irritation. Use every few hours if my eyes feel very dry and sore.

Omega-3 is proven to help reduce inflammation throughout the body, especially in the eyes. Inflammation is often a major cause of dry eye. Overcome with increasing consumption of fish or taking fish oil supplements.

Andrew Weil, MD, director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine and a professor of clinical medicine at the University of Arizona, suggested to massage the eye in this way to prevent dry eye:
- Rub hands together to warm them, then put your elbows on the table and sustain the closed eyes with the heel of your palm. Take a deep breath, then apply light pressure on the eye. Hold briefly and release.
