On 28 October, her condition deteriorated due to an infection and was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge. Her condition began to deteriorate rapidly and he died on 10 November 2012. The mother, Jacky Baxter and will marry her lover, Wayne Cooper, was in her hand when she was dying.

The money raised for her treatment plan will be given to fund research and partly PMP submitted to Addenbrooke's Hospital. Laura's family hopes the funds are used to purchase new medical equipment, replacing old equipment currently used in nursing.
