Smoking is known to cause various health problems. However, there are still many people who are willing to take risks to suck, even innovation from diverse, one of which is a menthol cigarette. But smoking is far more dangerous kind.
Reports a study published in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine confirms that menthol cigarettes vacuum 2-fold higher risk of stroke than other types used tobacco. This risk will increase 3-fold higher in women and non-black people.
One mechanism cause is due menthol stimulates cold receptors in the upper airway which can increase the time holding my breath. In turn, this facilitates the entry of particulate matter cigarette into the lungs, "said lead researcher, Dr Nicholas Vozoris as quoted by USA Today, Saturday (08/12/2012).

Unfortunately, Vozoris from St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto has not been able to explain why only menthol cigarette smoking was found to increase the risk of stroke alone. This study did not find that smoking menthol may lead to dangerous diseases such as hypertension, heart disease or lung disease.
Although this study only highlights the dangers of menthol cigarettes, experts say that does not mean other cigarettes safe for health. Cigarette smoking remains of any kind is bad for health and increases the risk of various cancers, heart disease and lung disease.
"However, this study shows that smoking menthol cigarettes may place a higher stroke risk than regular cigarettes that do not contain menthol," said Vozoris.
