Practicing Yoga 45 Minutes a Day, Boost Women's Sex Life

Lately yoga increasingly popular among women because it is a relaxing sport but effective enough to burn calories. For the problem of sex, yoga was also efficacious. One study found that practicing yoga 45 minutes a day can increase a woman's sex life.

The study was conducted by a team of leading sexologist of India. A total of 40 women aged 22-55 years took part in this study. All of the participants were asked to follow yoga training for 3 months at a yoga institute in Thane, India.

Effect of yoga on women's sexual life was measured using a questionnaire called the Female Sexual Function Index. This index contains 20 questions with five answers each. This questionnaire is used by doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi.

All of the subjects were asked to answer questions to measure factors such as sexual desire, pain, lubrication, orgasm and mental satisfaction. At the end of 12 weeks, participants were given the questionnaire again and assessed and compared with the results of the first questionnaire.

"As many as 85 percent of the subjects reported a substantial reduction in pain during intercourse and lubrication is also increasing. They get better orgasms and arousal also increased. Yoga help improve pelvic floor muscles that support sexual response," said Dr. Vikas Dhikav, pharmacists from Delhi's Maulana Azad Medical College, as reported by Pop Science. Monday (10/12/2012).

Not only that, Dr. Dhikav also confirmed that the older a woman practicing yoga, the better the results. In a report published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, the study confirms that found a significant increase substantially in women aged 45 years and over.
