Breast milk is the best food for infants who are known to have many benefits, such as promoting the development of physical and a good mental. But some mothers sometimes find a problem in breastfeeding, such as production of breast milk that is too low.

3. Mother's lifestyle is not healthy, so the mammary glands are unable to produce milk in sufficient quantity.
4. The storage capacity of a a little breast milk. It is not related with breast size but with the number of functional glandular tissue.

Almost 4 percent of women may be have specific medical problems that cause supply of breast milk is low, for example, ever experiencing breast surgery, thyroid gland problems, hormonal disorders, or even experiencing heavy bleeding during childbirth.

In addition, exposure to pesticides maybe also affect on supply of breast milk that is low. A small study conducted in 2006 found that the daughters of mothers who live in agricultural areas contaminated with pesticides, have mammary glands which is more a little than the other girls who live in a healthy environment.

Fertility problems may be also affect to the low supply of breast milk, for example, many women with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), namely a condition that can cause ovulation problems, have mammary glands are less functional.

If you suspect that your milk supply is very low, immediately consult with a lactation consultant. The experts can identify risk factors, evaluate how much breast milk do you spend every breastfeeding session and will help to pump breast milk with appropriately to improve drainage milk.

A lactation consultant maybe will recommend herbal supplements, such as fenugreek, fennel, or leaves the katuk, to help increase milk supply. You may be also need to change your diet with eating foods which more nutritious and meet the need green vegetables and fruits.

Some may be also recommend prescription medications, such as Domperidone, which have been proven to be very safe for long term use in the right dose.
