Today a lot of children toys that are equipped with a laser rays. No exception with toy laser which is used during the match ball. Although it seems trivial, it turns out the toy laser light can harm the eyes. Based on the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) the United States, the toy laser can be caused blindness in children.
"Laser light is directed directly in the eye can be dangerous and injure eyes directly, especially if the laser used is strong enough," said Dan Hewett of the Center for Devices and Radiological Health at the FDA.
Injuries that is caused by lasers on the eye is usually not painful, however in a certain period of time part of the eye can be damaged. This damage could have been not known up to weeks or months until a permanent damage. Several types of lasers that are usually found on toy is a laser beam on a toy gun and a small lamp that is equipped by laser rays such as that is used by football fans.
FDA further emphasize this for the kids because the laser light is usually found in children's toys and rarely noticed by an adult. Because it is sold as a toy, is oftentimes the parents and the kids will think rays it is safe.
Note some tips that is recommended by the FDA regarding the use of these toys laser:
1. Do not point the laser rays directly at people or animals. channeled energy from the laser light can dangerous to the eye, almost as dangerous as seeing the sun directly.
2. Do not point the laser rays on the surface that can reflect light.
3. Remember, that direct the rays that is too bright at people when driving can lead to accidents.
Hewett added that you should notice the information contained in the label. If the label does not convince, better not necessarily assume the laser rays or a toy it is safe to used.
