Men these days fewer and fewer sperm

The more years of couples seeking fertility clinics help to be able to have more children.

The problem was not only the women, because the male sperm count is less and less these days than it used to.

To produce healthy offspring, certainly takes the sperm and egg cells healthy.

But in fact, more and more couples who have difficulty getting married in a normal descent and need help fertility clinics.

That is, in today's world more and more reproductive problems that occur in both men and women.

Clinic Morula IVF Jakarta, for example, in 2005-2006 the fertility clinics serve only 50 to 60 patients per year. But in the year 2012 alone, the clinic has served more than 600 patients.

"Once I was relaxed, at least 50 patients per year. Now in 2012, the year is not up yet but we've served 600 patients. 5 to 7 patients a day was normal," said Dr. Ivan Here, MD, FRANZCOG, GDRM, SpOG, CEO Morula IVF Indonesia, in a media gathering in Jakarta Mother Hospital, as written (01/11/2012).

According to Dr. Ivan, there are many factors that cause difficulties couples have a child. In women such as endometriosis (cysts), blocked fallopian tubes and pelvic inflammatory infection.

"If the men, the number and quality of sperm is reduced. 6 percent of patients who come to me even having Azoospermia (zero sperm), so there was semen but no sperm," explained the doctor was born in Jakarta, May 9, 1972.

Dr Ivan said, the number of sperm men today are already much less than before. He also said the condition was 'Declining Male Syndrome', which will make him a minority.

Based on research done in the 30's, 50's, 70's and 2000, published in the journal Lancet, also appears patterns decrease in the number and quality of sperm. Even the World Health Organization (WHO) has changed the normal standard for male sperm count.

"In 1999, WHO set a normal guy if his sperm count 20 million / cc. In the year 2010, 15 million sperm / cc of semen is considered normal. 20 years, 5 million sperm / cc could have been considered normal," said Dr. Ivan .

Reduction in the number and quality of sperm is closely related to the style and quality of life. Nicotine in cigarettes, pollution, high stress levels, alcohol is one of the main factors that can damage sperm.

In order to stay healthy sperm, Dr Ivan suggested that men regularly exercise, multiply eat vegetables and fruit, sertahindari cigarettes and alcohol.
