If it's indeed perceived distance from home to the office is not so far away, is better you consider for more choosing to go to work with ways walking or cycling rather than ride public transport or private vehicles. Because a study found that this habit can cut the risk of diabetes and obesity.

Based on the results of the study, in a group that consists of more than 20,000 British workers, those who are habit of walking to work had a 40 percent lower risk for affected by diabetes, 20 percent lower to be exposed to obesity, and 17 percent lower to experiencing high blood pressure . While they are accustomed to cycling can cut diabetes risk as much as 50 percent and obesity as much as 37 percent.

The researchers revealed that this means 14,000 workers preferring to walk to go to the office every day then only about 156 people who have diabetes, 437 people are experiencing overweight or diabetes, and 338 people experiencing high blood pressure.

When you do the same analysis for cycling, then there are only 184 people who have diabetes and 762 people who are experiencing overweight or obese. This numbers maybe not look so big, but imagine if these numbers are elaborated at the entire population of the world, then millions of people will spared from obesity.

"In conclusion, move during the trip go home and go to work every day will make your body burn more a lot calories," said Roger E. Adams, Ph.D., a nutritionist and personal trainer in EatRightFitness.
